Our Mixing Steps
- As soon as we have discussed about your necessities and that all the audio stems of your projects are received, we will commence the mixing stage.
- Each track is placed and organized to create your unique session. The next step consists in editing and polishing your mix by adjusting volumes, balancing each track.
- Once these steps are completed, we apply equalization, compression, gating/expansion, automation, fades, and effects.
- When all these tasks are completed, we export the mixed tracks into a single file that will be used for the mastering stage.
(Please refer to the Mix preparation checklist below that is highly suggested to make sure your project is at its finest for mixing and mastering.)
Mix preparation checklist
Before we start working your project, we highly recommend you to follow this checklist
- Name each individual track according to its function/instrument. For example: Kick, Snare, hi-hats, Guitar, bass, etc.
- Remove any EQ and/or Compression on each track. You can leave special effects on tracks if you believe it’s the right vibe for it. For example, the flange on the main guitar is essential to the vision you have of the mix.
- Export each track from the beginning to make sure all the tracks are aligned to the same length.
- We prefer 24 bit files with no dithering WAV or AIF.
- Add all your tracks to a folder, name the folder according to your song, then you compress your folder to ZIP or RAR.
- Log into your account and upload the ZIP or RAR folder.
